Online Radio World is a directory, not a broadcaster
Online Radio World is an aggregator. We list radio stations from around the world and help you find them. We are not the service provider for any station:
- We don’t broadcast, host, relay, record, store or change any station’s audio.
- When you press play, your browser connects directly to the station’s own streaming server. The audio never passes through Online Radio World.
- Each station is run by its own broadcaster, who is responsible for what it plays.
Station information comes from public directories such as Radio Browser (public domain), from the stations’ own websites and streams, and from broadcasters who manage their listing with us.
Publicly available streams
We only list streams that broadcasters make publicly available on the internet, without a login, subscription or payment. We don’t get around any access control, geographic restriction or protection a broadcaster has put in place.
If a stream we list isn’t meant to be public, send a take-down request and we’ll remove it.
Content and licensing
Programmes, music, adverts and opinions heard on a station belong to that station and its contributors, not to Online Radio World. Broadcasters are responsible for holding the licences their streams need, including music licences in the places they broadcast from.
If you hear something on a station that you think breaks the law or is harmful, use Something’s broken in the player or a take-down request.
Names, logos and trademarks
Station names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners. Listing a station doesn’t mean it endorses Online Radio World, or that we endorse it. Logos come from the station’s own website or are uploaded by the station; otherwise we show a cover we generate from the station’s name.
Availability
Stations go off air, change address or restrict listening without telling us. We check streams regularly, but we can’t promise any station will be available or play without interruption. Online Radio World is provided as it is.
Broadcasters
Broadcasters can claim their listing for free. Once verified, their edits replace the information we imported. A broadcaster who doesn’t want to be listed can ask us to remove the station.
Take-down requests
Station owners, rights holders and people acting for them can ask us to change or remove a listing, for example because:
- you run the station and don’t want it listed;
- the stream isn’t meant to be publicly available;
- a listing uses your copyright material, name or trademark without permission;
- a listing exposes personal information.
What to send
- Your name and contact email, and who you represent.
- The Online Radio World page or pages concerned.
- What you’d like changed or removed, and why. For copyright or trademark, describe the work or mark and how you hold the rights.
- A statement that you believe in good faith the request is justified, that it’s accurate, and that you’re the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
What happens next
- A person on our team reviews every request. We may ask for more information to confirm who you are.
- While we review it, we may hide the listing.
- When we remove a listing, we hide it from every page and search on Online Radio World, and directory updates don’t bring it back.
- We’ll reply to the email address you give us with what we’ve done.
If you run the station and only want to correct its details, claim it and edit it yourself; changes go live straight away.
Information we keep
- Listening: when you press play we record which station, whether it started, roughly how long you listened, your country and your browser type, to keep streams working and to show broadcasters how many people listen. We don’t record your IP address with it.
- Radio Browser: when you play a station listed in Radio Browser, your browser also tells Radio Browser which station was played, which helps its public popularity counts. Radio Browser is a separate service and receives your IP address when this happens.
- Your library: favourites and recently played stations are stored only in your browser.
- Forms: when you send a report, submission or request we keep what you write, any email address you give, your browser type and a one-way code made from your IP address, used only to stop abuse.
- Broadcaster accounts: your name, email address and the stations you manage.
- Server logs: like most websites, our servers keep standard access logs, including IP addresses, for security and to fix problems.
